Veer Savarkar’s grandson to file police complaint Rahul Gandhi

Savarkar's grandson files complaint against Rahul Gandhi

Ranjit Savarkar, the grandson of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, is set to file a complaint at Shivaji Park Police Station in Mumbai against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for “insulting” Veer Savarkar.

He said, “It is not the first time Rahul Gandhi and Congress have insulted Savarkar, in the past, they have insulted Savarkar, so I have decided to file a complaint against Rahul Gandhi at Shivaji Park police station.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi attended a tribal meeting at Bharat Jodo Yatra in Hingoli on the occasion of Janjati’s Gaurav Divas. While speaking at this time, Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar had criticized that he was working against the Congress by receiving pension from the British. In this context, Ranjit Savarkar expressed his anger.

When Veer Savarkar was in Andaman Jail, he wrote to the British, asking them to forgive him and release him from jail. Veer Savarkar received a pension from the British. He worked against Congress. After coming out of jail he accepted the British offer and joined them. Rahul Gandhi said that the difference between Savarkar and Birsa Munda is that Birsa Munda fought against the British when he was 24 years old.

In strong words, Ranjit  slammed former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru calling him a loyal to the British. He stated that Rahul Gandhi should be grateful to his grandmother and former prime minister Indira Gandhi for dropping her surname (Nehru) as a year before India gained independence, Nehru swore his loyalty to the then King of England, King George VI. “Jawaharlal Nehru was a British loyalist as in 1946 he accepted to work in the Vice Royal Council as a minister, in greed for power. He expressed loyalty to the then monarch of England, King George VI and took an oath to be loyal to the British. Savarkar could never even dream about it.”

The grandson of Veer Savarkar also said, “Nehruji was so devoted to his oath of slavery that even after India became independent on August 15, 1947, he considered King George to be the Emperor of India till 1950 and took permission from him for all important decisions. Even when Rajaji was made Governor-General in April 1949, the permission of King George taken. Only such people can insult patriots like Savarkar!”
