Pandit Nehru had agreed to divide the country at the behest of a ‘woman’, said Savarkar’s grandson Ranjit Savarkar

Pandit Nehru had given the country's secret information to the British for 12 years after independence

During the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi accused freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar i.e. Veer Savarkar of betraying the country in Maharashtra. Now Savarkar’s grandson has made serious allegations against Rahul Gandhi’s maternal grandfather and the country’s first PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Savarkar’s grandson Ranjit Savarkar rejected Rahul Gandhi’s allegations and said that Pandit Nehru had agreed to divide the country at the behest of a ‘woman’. Ranjit said that Pandit Nehru had given the country’s secret information to the British for 12 years after independence. Ranjit Savarkar has asked Rahul Gandhi to answer this.

It is noteworthy that in Washim, Maharashtra, Rahul had accused Veer Savarkar of betraying the country. Rahul’s allegation was that Savarkar had written a letter to the British asking them to remain their servants and had been taking a pension from them for life. Ranjit Savarkar while talking to media persons on Friday (November 18) said that the correspondence between the then Viceroy Lord Mountbatten’s wife Edwina and Pandit Nehru should be taken back from the British and put in front of the public. Ranjit said, ‘These letters will show how the country’s Chacha Nehru, betrayed the country.’

Ranjit Savarkar claimed that “Pandit Nehru went alone to Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, between May 9 and May 12, 1947, and resided there for four days. During that time it was said in Edwina’s letters to the British Government that I had invited Pandit Nehru as my guest.”

Further, he called attention to the things written in Edwina’s letter regarding their relations. Ranjit Savarkar said, “Pandit Nehru was very busy. So he was getting close to a ‘nervous breakdown’. He spent 4 days with me. Both of us (Edwina and Nehru) have become very good friends and this friendship will last for a long time.”

Ranjit Savarkar went ahead and said that Edwina had written in her letter that “Pandit Nehru has come under my ‘control’.”

Ranjit Savarkar further said that Pandit Nehru had made Lord Mountbatten the Viceroy by ignoring the security of the country. He said, “Balwant Singh had told that because of Mountbatten being the Viceroy, he could not send the army to Pakistan. 20,000 girls were kidnapped and taken to Pakistan. Seeing the carnage, the Indian leaders couldn’t understand what to do, so I took full control.”

Quoting Mountbatten, Ranjit Savarkar said, “The Viceroy wrote that after he left India, Nehru sent his reports to Mountbatten daily for 12 years.” Ranjit Savarkar even said that this is a big failure of the intelligence agencies and that Nehru was honey trapped.

Ranjit Savarkar has demanded an inquiry from PM Narendra Modi and said that the Prime Minister should investigate this whole matter. Even before this, many people have been caught in honeytraps and they have also been punished, but who will talk about Nehru? He has asked Rahul Gandhi to answer this.
