Former President Pratibha Patil’s husband, Dr Devisingh Shekhawat, passed away in Pune on Friday aged 89.
A renowned agriculturist and a member of Indian National Congress, Shekhawat was an MLA from Amravati constituency in Maharashtra from 1980 to 1990. “He made a mark on society through his various community service efforts,” PM Narendra Modi tweeted while offering condolences.
