The incident also claimed 49 lives and injured many more. The Bangladeshi cricket team which is touring New Zealand was about to play the final Test, but it has now been canceled following the attack in the mosque. The cricketers were going to the mosque to offer their Friday prayers when they got to know about what was happening from a lady standing outside the local mosque. The cricketers hurried back to their team bus to return to the hotel.
“We stand here and condemn, absolutely the attack that occurred today by an extremist, right-wing, violent terrorist,” New Zealand Prime Minister Scott Morrison told in a press conference.
